Match the concern to the right board

Keep the names, paperwork and a clear account of what happened. The licence type helps you choose where to take a care concern.

A concern about professional care versus a price dispute

A doctor or physician assistant

A medical doctor has an MD degree; an osteopathic doctor has a DO degree.

A physician assistant, or PA, provides medical services under a supervising doctor.

For a medical doctor, or a physician assistant licensed by the medical board, Nevada’s Medical Examiners board has an online complaint route.

For an osteopathic doctor, or a physician assistant under that board, use Nevada’s Osteopathic Medicine board.

Match the person’s licence record before choosing the complaint route.

A nurse or nurse practitioner

Nurses and nurse practitioners, nurses with advanced training, have a complaint route through Nevada’s nursing board.

The board investigates and gives the nurse due process before deciding the complaint.

Due process means the person has a formal chance to respond. Keep your account specific and attach records that explain it.

Consumer fraud

The Nevada Attorney General accepts formal signed consumer-fraud complaints, including health-care fraud concerns.

The office does not provide personal legal advice or act as a private person’s lawyer.

Use the formal complaint route linked below. Describe the claim made, what you paid or received, and the records you have.
