Find the board that holds the record

For your search, first collect the care professional’s full name plus their licence type. The name of the service alone leaves you with the wrong thing to check.

Doctor with an MD degree or a DO degree?

What if the person treating you is a nurse practitioner or physician assistant?

Nevada nurse practitioners, nurses with advanced training, are licensed through the State Board of Nursing.

A physician assistant, or PA, provides medical services under a supervising doctor.

A Nevada PA can hold a licence with the medical or osteopathic board, or with both.

For a Nevada PA, the licensing board follows the type of doctor supervising the work.

Ask which record covers the care being offered. Use that board’s search rather than guessing from a shortened title.

What does a clear record prove?

A board record can show licence status and public disciplinary action; it does not grade the person’s skill at treating you.

Disciplinary action means a board took formal action over a professional issue. Read the actual record, including any limits or later changes.

Keep the licence check separate from your questions about experience with your health problem.

Then check the pharmacy

Nevada’s pharmacy board has a separate online licence check for pharmacists and pharmacies.

Use the exact pharmacy name, including the location named in the paperwork. Ask the board about a record you cannot match.
